Build It Yourself: Weekend Projects for the Garden
This is a book of woodworking projects that you can create to enhance your garden. The book is designed for both the novice and advanced woodworker. In each chapter, we will create a new project based on someone with novice skills, branching off into advanced options. The book has twelve projects. Each chapter will have approximately 45-50 pictures and 1 plan.
Frank Perrone is a master woodworker with over thirty years of experience. He is currently the director of Facilities and Capital Projects at Wave Hill, a public garden and cultural center, located in the Riverdale section of Bronx, New York. He has worked at Wave Hill for the past three years and in that time has been running weekend workshops teaching novice builders how to make chairs, tables, harvest baskets and bird houses. His main inspiration has been the Gerrit Reitveld design of the Red and Blue Chair, which he has expanded into a set of furniture using the same construction techniques.
